One of the most classic color combinations gets a modern update with saturated hues and tons of blinged-out baubles. One of my most favorite wedding ensembles and definitely one of the least expensive to date. Thrifted vintage dress $10...Vintage clutch $10...Vintage belt $5...Jeffrey Campbell platforms: gifted. St. Thomas necklace $50. St. Thomas cuff $25. All together approximately $100???
This post is looooooong overdue. We had the pleasure of re-visiting The Crosby last month after a not so favorable first time where a party of 40+ yielded lots of pre-made fried food plus salty sea monsters that were out to get me. You know how I feel about my sodium intake man...salt does NOT always equal flavor! With that said, thank god I gave it another go 'round for a specialty dinner prepared by the talented (and too too generous) Executive Chef Aron Habiger who not only redeemed the restaurant, but totally makes me want to book a private party there for my next event. Such gorgeous presentations, made with love, handled with care. Here's the lowdown peeps, plate by plate.
Remember that bachelorette party I planned HERE and that beautiful bridal shower I attended HERE? Well, our gorgeous bachelorette finally got hitched last weekend and of course we celebrated with tons of booze in a blinged-out venue surrounded by Bolsa's hottest babes (that's right Skittles, I'm talkin' to you!!) and what seemed like a never-ending festivity of food and fun!
I always joke that leopard is my favorite color.
A amalgamation of all things haute and luxe, its organically graphic pattern easily renders leopard the single most wearable item in my closet and home. Every gal NEEDS to own at least 1 spotted piece, be it a skirt (I've got like 5), jeans/tights, dress (again like 5), blouse, purse, pillow...there is nothing your feline friend can't perfectly pair up with. In this case, YES even butterflies!
I've been DYING to try this trendy LA hotspot since it opened last spring on the corner of Melrose and La Cienega. This New York-based Mediterranean mecca debuted to a haute and hungry WeHo crowd in March and hasn't stopped burning the midnight olive oil since. 8,000-square-feet of pure yummy goodness...glowing walls, translucent greenhouse, hip and chic vibe, and of course major star power to boot. Expect to run into a few celebs on any given night (We sat next to Joe Hachem Poker Star, the boy was drooling...me, only over the food of course). Here's a sneak peek into what Fig and O's offering up these days...
Peeps often ask me why I don't Yelp if I consider myself a total foodie.
I'm definitely a devoted yelp-ee, (mapping everything from "good for groups" eats to "vietnamese noodle soup" even though I live in the heart of Little Saigon) but sadly enough, notsomuch a yelp-er. Between keeping up with the daily blogging, the full-time job, the social functions, and family/friends/furries, I have yet to actually devote the time to bust out a separate entry for each separate dining occasion. Dude, if I yelped virtually every single place I demolished, I don't think I would even find the time to eat! And honestly, who wants to read my posts anyway?...I know y'all are just in it for the food porn. So here ya go my lovelies...say no more :D
S&S's destination wedding in Honolulu, Hawaii was nothing short of spectacular.
The bride beautiful in her vintage-inspired Lazaro gown, the groom handsome and splendid in his Joseph Abboud tux. 38 guests celebrated as Sophia and Steve tied the knot after having spent half their lives as BFF's before finally succumbing to everything fate had in store for them.
