Rock the FrockTuesday, January 07, 2014
The wintry holiday season is my absolute favorite time to get all decked out and dolled up with fabulous fur, TONS of bling, sky high heels, and ruby red lips to UP the glamour quotient.
Having spent the latter part of my adulthood attending numerous formal events, I’d say I have dressing for weddings down to a science y’all.
Dress: The older I get, the more tailored attire must be. I chose this fitted, drapey Haute Hippie silk gown for its fun flirty 40’s style. The perfect length between cocktail and gown, I allowed the languid layers to dictate my look for the night.
Accessories: Black and gold complement this wintry persimmon perfectly so a matching necklace, subtle earrings, vintage belt, and patent leather clutch finishes the look.
Outerwear: Cool California nights call for a light coat but I love to layer with additional texture to keep me from freezing my ass off indoors and out. I’ve had this Nanette Lepore car-length coat for over a decade now and she never disappoints when paired with casual or formal looks. Draped a rabbit fur stole over the entire ensemble et Voilà! Wedding-ready in 5 seconds flat!
