Food Porn Friday | Nozawa Bar | Beverly Hills

I’ve been wanting to try Nozawa Bar since my girlfriend told me that Sugarfish’s head Chef opened up his own private dining space years ago.  $150 for 22-course omakase, Chef Fujita’s claim-to-fame melt in your mouth sushi goodness is an institution in these parts and serious sushi-lovers all flock to the newest outpost for his latest creations.

How to Throw a Fancy Father’s Day Soirée

Summer is sneaking up on us fast guys! First with Father’s Day coming up this weekend, next thing you know it’ll be Fourth of July then Labor Day in a blink of an eye! My favorite part about these hot summer months is all the festive parties we get to throw right in our very own backyard.  My girls and I hosted an intimate Father’s Day soirée for the special hubbies in our lives and here’s how it all went down…

How to Style Embroidered Pieces for Summer

Embroidery was such a huge trend for spring I’m loving that my favorite brands are taking the cue and bringing this bohemian detail right into summer.  If you haven’t snagged a cool top or skirt with a bit of embroidery you’re missing out!  Equal parts casual yet classy, look for pieces with quality needlework as opposed to patchwork that’s simply glued on.

Japan Travel Diary

Japan has been on our travel hit list for as long as I can remember.
Le hubs grew up watching Godzilla while I was hooked on anime (remember Ranma ½ anyone?).  Booking our trip during spring was a no-brainer since cherry blossom viewing was a HIGH priority, followed by the temples, shrines, ramen, sushi, street food, oman the list goes on and on!

Here’s highlights of how it all went down…(Picture heavy post ahead guys)

If Not Now, When? with JORD Watches

Having spent the last 2 weeks away on vacation in Japan has got me thinking…
When I was in my 20’s I had all the time in the world to travel but little finances to do so.  Now that I’m well into my 30’s I barely have the time since I’m running my own business and working like a fiend!  But I swear time has a funny way of sneaking up on you…

Tokyo Bound!

T-minus 10 days until we head out to Tokyo guys!
I’ve always dreamed of visiting Japan during cherry blossom season.  Blushing petals falling from the sky while I twirl around and dance underneath pink moonlight…

Food Porn Friday | Hamamori Restaurant | Costa Mesa

We’re headed to Japan in 2 weeks guys!!!
I can hardly contain my excitement what with travel planning taking over my entire workdays for the last month or so.  All I can think of is sushi, sushi, and sushi!!! Oh yeah and shopping of course but need that sushi to satiate me for all day shopping excursions, lol.  While I absolutely can’t wait for that authentic Japanese sashimi to be rolling off my tongue, check out one of our local oldies (but goodies) right here in Orange County, Hamamori Sushi at South Coast Plaza.

Casual Work Wear for Creative Types

It all starts with a great pair of trousers. Add a high fashion dose of black and you’re well on your way to my tried-and-true uniform. Complete the look with designer shades, attitude for days, and the clients will be clamoring for your expertise before you even bust out your business card guys…

Spring Clean Your Style with these Key Essentials

Spring is almost upon us loves! I can taste it!
The sun is shining brighter, the days longer, the air fuller and filled with so much promise.
Although SoCal doesn’t necessarily succumb to the whims of seasonal changes, I make it a point to switch out my wardrobe and always add key pieces that will survive all season long.

Let's see what made the cut!

Mammoth Mountain Travel Diary

No winter season is complete in SoCal without a weekend getaway to Mammoth Mountain.
Load the car up with my babies, our buddies, bundles of snow gear, and we’ve got yourselves a mini vacation y’all.  Complete with the most beautiful backdrop for the inevitable photo ops…

Why Comparing Yourself to Others is (Actually) a Good Thing

You know you do it.

Every time you spy another with great hair, killer style, luxury handbags, always traveling, hitting up the coolest spots, surrounded by fabulous people with a hot career that’s well on the rise… Admit it. You’re a little jealous. Green-eyed even. Lusting after what you don’t have and wishing, wanting what others seem to radiate.

I’m here to tell you those envious emotions are actually reactive blessings in disguise.
Don’t believe me?  Here’s how I know…

How to Build Your Wardrobe with Basics

Happy Monday lovers!
Valentine’s Day is tomorrow!! Any fun plans in the works?
Le hubs and I got an early start to Valentine’s weekend having celebrated last Saturday to beat the crowds.  We started date night with a quickie shopping sesh at South Coast Plaza and ended with a bomb ass sushi dinner at Hamamori (Food Porn Friday coming back soon)!
Shopping >> Sushi >> Sake
That man sure does know the way to my heart! haha

How to Stay Positive

You never really have any control over your life, even as much as you’d like to think you do.  Coming from a completely OCD mindset, that’s a tough pill to swallow especially for those Type A personalities like myself.  Just when you think you have it all together, the universe drop kicks you right in the jaw and karate chops your neck just for effect.

Seriously. How are you ever going to recover?

Our Wedding | Part I | Chinese Tea Ceremony

We finally made it guys!
It’s our 1 year anniversary to the day and I can’t believe how fast this past year has just flown by.  Now that we’ve completely settled into our new lives as husband and wife, I’m recounting all the treasured moments from our wedding weekend with a trip down memory lane. It’s taken me a full year to finally share our wedding album, collated from professional photographers, snapshots from friends and family, and special candids taken right from my phone.  It was tough to whittle these precious memories down to this modest collection, but I hope that you’re able to get a sense of what it was like behind the best days of our lives…

How to Be a Girl's Girl

If this title post already hooks you, then you know you’re either IT or you’re NOT.  At least you’re interested in either becoming one or you could care less.  Pick a side and veer passionately towards that purpose.  I am first and foremost a TOTAL Girl’s girl- in all its feministic, anti-chauvinistic, empowering, reinforcing, supportive, overly considerate (sometimes to a fault), attentive, sympathetic, accommodating, and cooperative glory.  I will back you up, push you forward, and strive to ALWAYS make you feel like I’m in your corner.

2016 | Year in Review

And just like that, we’re in a brand new year guys.
It’s been a magical 2016 to say the least what with our wedding taking precedence over pretty much everything else.  We started at the highest of highs and ended with what I can only describe as the most blessed life ever.  Here’s highlights of how it all unfolded with 12 inspirational quotes that got me through 12 months of an eventful last year…
