2013 was one of those years that I dreaded going in.

Bad Luck Year?

From Chinese astrology I knew the year of the Water Snake would be one of the most difficult years in transition for the Monkey. And boy, were the signs right on point.   Between moving a total of 3 times this year (More than I’ve moved in the last decade, yikes!), overdosing on social outings from the stress of relocating, taking the entire summer off to renovate my own home, and finally catching up with all the work that I’ve missed this last quarter, it’s safe to say I’m pretty beat y’all. But that doesn’t mean I wasn’t looking fly and feelin’ high along the way, here’s why:

Highlights

Being crowned Miss Pepper 2013 was definitely an exciting start as I racked up 12 new pairs of kicks c/o Pink and Pepper to rock all year ‘round. My only regret is that I wasn’t able to adequately shoot the spectacle seeing as how my photographer was out of commission from our multiple moves as well…Wahhhhh. Hoping to rep them right in 2014! THANK YOU to the PnP team for taking care of your girl!

Weddings and Milestones

The myriad of matrimonial bliss we witnessed in 2013 was nothing short of spectacular. From a bayside wedding in Balboa to my first attempt at coordinating my besty’s own nuptials and everything in between, this was definitely the year for lovers and friends.

Events

Designing>decorating>implementing 2 back-to-back baby showers in the midst of my home flooding was easily the most chaotic months of my year. Of course I thrive on stress so these showers took off without a hitch! And most importantly will be published early in 2014 whoohooooo! I always knew hard work would eventually pay off!

Travels

Travels this year took me first to Utah for the Sundance film festival (forever on my bucket list!), Mammoth Lakes for some fun snowboarding (and again this weekend!), Chicago for my birthday (thanks to the bff!), Vegas with the girls for multiple celebrations (Unce!) and finally Portland for a vineyard wedding (congrats Trammy!).  I try to take 1 international trip per year but seeing as how domestic responsibilities had me tied to the states, our Asia tour will just have to wait until 2014 (which is tomorrow yay~!!).

Did y’all know that the Chinese character for crisis is a symbol for danger and opportunity?  After this windfall of a year I’m looking forward to taking chances and making changes in 2014!  And of course looking fresh-to-death with my girlfriends while I’m at it!

Hoping you’ll join along my loves!
Happiest of New Years to you all!!!
