With emerald still heralded as Pantone’s pick for color of the year, it was only a short moment of time before all the green-eyed goodies started spilling in.
History 101
Malachite has been a mainstay in décor and decoration since the 17th century when artists melted down the mineral and used it for pigment in green paints. Heavily ornate and usually popular paired with gilded regency looks of the French renaissance; I’ve been wanting to incorporate this pop of color somewhere in my humble abode. Not quite sure where she’d fit in…perhaps on some hardware and fixtures? Maybe papered in my entry foyer?
Have you seen THIS brilliant application of faux-painted malachite hacked on a simple Ikea desk from Little Green Notebook? Friggin’ brilliant and sooooo dang creative! Gotta get my hands on a fan brush or two for this one!
What do you think of emerald’s glamorous cousin???
Love it or leave it???
